Naujan "Scammed" by Smart Communications

If you think that scammers are only those in hiding, think again. They have many faces. Those in government agencies, we call them CORRUPT OFFICIALS. How about big corporations? We don’t really know the exact word for them. "SCAM" is enough. One of those corporate agencies is Smart Communications. It has a very legitimate face. But its service terms and policies do not protect its clients. It is too unilateral and not fair.

Smart Communications, Incorporated "scammed" the Municipal Government of Naujan in Oriental Mindoro recently by collecting service fees to the latter despite the non-availability of internet connections in certain months.

Naujan complained the matter to Smart several times, but the latter kept on giving reasons that there occurred a system error in the network. So the government agency withheld payment to connection inactivity months and requested that their service be terminated for the very poor broadband service and asked for refunds of payment billed to Naujan at times when Smart’s service was not functional.

However, Smart refused to pay refund to the Municipal Government of Naujan and turndown its request for disconnection unless full payment is done first.

On this ground, Naujan perceived that they are being scammed by Smart Communications for continual collection of payment on services that the local government agency does not use up to this date of writing.

Consequently, Naujan transferred its subscriptions to Globe Telecom for its internet connection in the main building and for its economic enterprise with a much faster internet service bundled with a landline with free unlimited call to Globe Network.
